This year's documentary centerpiece was inspired by Amendment One, a proposed ban on gay marriage that divided North Carolina voters in 2012. Filmmaker Becca Roth travels across the state in the months leading up to the election, interviewing people advocating for and against the legislation. By collecting personal stories of North Carolinians from diverse backgrounds, the film aspires to contribute to the national dialogue and refocus the national discussion on love, family and common bonds.
