Public Poetry, a literary nonprofit based in Houston, has expanded its annual poetry film festival. Now in its third year, REELpoetry will run for five days instead of three, and it will be entirely online.
The festival program includes more than 100 poemfilms and videopoems from creators around the world. Several experts curated presentations and will also participate in live discussions with festival goers. The poemfilms and videopoetry include selections from the ekphrasis contest for which entrants wrote poems to go with video and film prompts Public Poetry provided. The festival will also include two workshops, a panel discussion, a VIP reception, contest awards, and an open mic session.
