The University of Houston will host the grand opening of "Havah…to breathe, air, life," a temporary multimedia exhibition by globally recognized Pakistani artist Shahzia Sikander. Marking Sikander’s first major, site-specific outdoor exhibition in sculptural form, the installation co-commissioned by Public Art UHS and Madison Square Park Conservancy challenges traditional symbols of power, justice, and female representation in public monuments.

During the artist talk, Sikander will share insights into her artistic process, inspirations, and the stories behind her captivating work. This session will give you a chance to hear from the artist directly and gain a deeper understanding of her artistic vision.
