History in Print, Preservation Houston's free, public author series, begins with the new book Fair Park Deco by Preservation Houston staff members Jim Parsons and David Bush. The authors will take guests on a tour of the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition in Fair Park, the permanent home of the State Fair of Texas. The program features the Art Deco art and architecture of the only surviving exposition grounds from America's Golden Age of World's Fairs in the 1930.

The presentation includes original and historic photos of the exposition and amusing newsreel footage of some of the fair's surprisingly racy attractions. Both Fair Park Deco and Houston Deco will be available for purchase at the event, including personalized and signed copies. Proceeds from book sales at the event benefit Preservation Houston.
