The Houston Public Library has partnered with Public Poetry to showcase a free poetry reading series, featuring local and visiting poets on the first of each month. Mayor Annise Parker is to kick off the series with a poem of her choosing. 

Saturday, April 2

Mayor Annise Parker will launch the event and will be reading a poem of her choosing. Light refreshments will be served.

Featured poets are Rich Levy, Martha Serpas, Eva Skrande and Deborah D.E.E.P. Wiggins.

Saturday, May 7

Featured poets are Samuel Amadon, Robin Davidson, Elisa A. Garza and Dave Parsons.

Saturday, June 4

Featured poets are John Gorman, Carol Louise Munn, Evangelina Vigil-Piñón and Kevin Prufer.
