"Party for the Planet" at the Houston Zoo

Enjoy music, green themed activities and crafts and Special Party for the Planet Meet the Keeper Talks throughout the day. Party for the Planet, in honor of Earth Day is North America's largest combined Earth Day festival, observed by the Houston Zoo and more than 100 zoos and aquariums accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums.

Activities include:

  • Endangered Species Maze: Test your knowledge of endangered species to navigating a fun and educational maze.
  • Race to Recycle: Challenge your friends to a foot race to see who can log the best time and get their recyclable items in their correct containers.
  • Scavenger Hunt: Hunt for vital facts that can help save species as you make your way around the zoo. Complete your scavenger hunt and pick up a prize in the zoo's front plaza.
  • DJ: Dance your cares away at the Reflection Pool.
  • Reusable Mural: Color the day away on our five foot tall coloring mural.
  • Meet the Keeper Talks: Enjoy special Party for the Planet Meet the Keeper Talks and find out how you and the zoo can help wild animals and the wild places they call home.
