The Ninfa Laurenzo Scholarship Fund will host its second Tacos Over Texas fundraising event at The Original Ninfa’s in collaboration with El Tiempo Cantina. The event will once again bring together top Houston chefs to share their cooking skills in a friendly taco competition honoring the legacy of “Mama Ninfa” Laurenzo, who paved the way for Tex-Mex cuisine with her famous Tacos al Carbon.

New participants include Chris Shepherd’s One Fifth Houston, Ronnie Killen’s Killen's TMX, Ryan Lachaine’s Riel, Bosscat Kitchen & Libations, La Calle Tacos and Poitín, along with Chopped champion Chef Roshni Gurnani and Chef Jamie Zelko of Zelko Concepts. Each restaurant will be challenged to create a taco inspired by Mama Ninfa, celebrating the history and transformation of Houston's passion for multicultural food by adding their own unique flavors.

All guests will enjoy unlimited taco samples along with live music by Mariachi Emperadores de Mexico, Andrea Daniela and DJ Tony Styles, plus a silent auction with prizes. VIP tickets include early access from 12-1 pm, access to an exclusive seated area and an open bar for beer and margaritas. General admission tickets include access from 1-4 pm and two drink tickets.
