Georges Bizet is widely known as the composor of the celebrated opera, Carmen. Many speculate he would have been known for many more if he had not tragically died at 36. His only other opera performed today (and some would argue, only other notable opera) is Pearl Fishers. The opera precedes Carmen and shows the development of the musical genius of Bizet. Notable pieces include the duet "Au fond du temple saint", and the arias, "Je crois entendre encore" and "Comme autrefois."
