In his paintings, James explores how uncertainty can lead to meaning and understanding, how harmony can be experienced even within tension and chaos and how the recognizable can rise out of purely abstract form. This exploration manifests in this new series of complex abstractions. An opening reception will be held 6 - 8 p.m. The exhibition is on view through Feb. 12.
