Opening of platform 2011

Platform 2011 is a group exhibition that will create a stage for introducing the most recent works by a diverse group of regional and international gallery artists working in a variety of media, techniques and content.

The show will feature a new inflated steel sculpture by William Cannings and a light installation by Adela Andea. Vincent Falsetta is returning to the gallery for the first time since 2007 with a series of new abstract paintings, showing next to dynamic works by Texas-based, Russian-born Dmitri Koustov. Pakistani artist Simeen Farhat will be installing her just completed three-dimensional interpretation of the Urdu poetry of Ghalib.

Carmen Flores debuts her work with the gallery. Flores' politically charged works were recently shown in a solo exhibition at Lawndale Art Center and are in the permanent collection of the Mazatlan Museum of Art, Mazatlan, Mexico.

The collection will be on display through July 29.
