This body of work was birthed from the artist's admiration of works by Flemish still-life painters as well as flesh studies by artists like Claude Monet and Chaim Soutine. The subject matter for this exhibition is grounded by a deep appreciation of Peña's Hispanic heritage and cultural upbringing.
