Open Screen Double Header: One Second Film Festival of TCU & Hollis Frampton Films

eventdetail

Open Screen is a quarterly program that welcomes anyone's proposals for programming consideration.

One Second Film Festival, curated by Nick Bontrager, is a series of videos that represents the Texas Christian University. Entirely produced and curated by undergraduate students, this constant stream of ephemera ranges from fleeting moments to carefully orchestrated productions.

Hollis Frampton Films, curated by Brenda Cruz and The University of Houston Student Photography Association, focuses on the works of Frampton. As a photographer and filmmaker of the 1960s cinematic avant-garde, Frampton made cerebral, puzzle-like films that would become categorized as "structural film." Of his numerous experimental works, the screening will feature Critical Mass and Surface Tension.
