For Translations, New Orleans-based artist Regina Scully presents a selection of recent paintings on canvas and paper. Inspired by the idea of the artist as a recorder and translator of the imagination, Scully creates vibrant imaginary landscapes. In working with material from the imagination and memory, some components of Scully's imagery directly references reality while other elements feel more abstract and symbolic.

Regina Scully was born in Norfolk, Virginia, and received her undergraduate degree in painting from the Rhode Island School of Design and her masters from the University of New Orleans.
