Nicole Longnecker Gallery will present “Isolation,” featuring new work from photographic artist Cara Barer. Barer’s archival photograph and encaustic images are a departure from her iconic book sculpture edition prints.
"The works are a complete departure from what Cara is famous for - her artistically manipulated book sculptures,” said gallery owner Nicole Longnecker. “These new portraits, captured by Barer during the Houston Marathon, are raw and full of emotion. Her addition of encaustic wax imparts an abstracted veil that amplifies and invites the viewer to embrace the emotion."
The opening reception will be by appointment only, limited to five people at a time with masks required. Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be available through the online viewing room through December 31.
