Nicole Longnecker Gallery features a discussion of her new paintings by Houston artist Ellen Orseck. Primarily known for her mixed-media abstracts of turbulent weather and her paintings of whimsical sumo wrestlers immersed in food, Orseck's new series explores the human body and what happens when it is submerged in water. In the artist's own words, "Limbs become liquid and color flows with the motion of water. What was recognizable becomes abstracted and altered."
