The National Foundation for Veteran Redeployment (NFVR) is organizing a series of fundraising events to amplify awareness about veteran unemployment, and how NFVR works for veterans in the Oil and Gas industry. The event features keynote speaker Congressman Pete Olson and special guest Dale Buckner, president/CEO Global Guardian.

The NFVR Houston Energizer, in conjunction with Pin Up CrossFit and Triumph Strength and Conditioning, aims to test your physical capabilities in the traditional military fashion through variations of the standard physical fitness testing system, but also through a competitive team aspect. Two team divisions, beginner and advanced, will battle through a number of events that will test your strength, endurance, teamwork, mental capacity and creativity.

Competitors will be expected to work efficiently as a team while completing physical tasks such as buddy carries, pushing/pulling/carrying objects over a specified distance, stair/object climbing and everyday fitness movements such as squats, pushups, situps, pullups and lunges.

Entry into the competition is, but participants are asked the to support the National Foundation of Redeployment by liking its page and considering a contribution at the door. Registration is through April 25. Check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. at the Rice Stadium.
