Julep celebrates the spirit and spirits of the South, and bourbon is the spirit most often associated with the region. Every day, Alba Huerta will highlight a different bourbon, giving Julep customers the opportunity to sample new, interesting bourbons and learn stories and anecdotes about each. Huerta will also create six additional bourbon cocktails — a mix of classics and house drinks — for a special National Bourbon Heritage Month menu, an addition to Julep's existing menu.

Huerta will teach Clumsy Butcher's monthly cocktail class on Sept. 27, focusing on Spirits of the South (including bourbon). The class will be held at The Pastry War. Tickets will be sold at Julep, Anvil and The Pastry War.
