Musica Tra Amici will celebrate the genius of Franz Schubert with an all-star ensemble, including Houston Symphony concertmaster Yoonshin Song, principal viola Joan DerHovsepian, principal cello Brinton Averil Smith, violinist Tong Yan, and cellist Charles Seo.
They will perform Schubert's single movement Quartettsatz, followed by the chamber music work C major quintet for two violin, viola, and two cellos. The quintet was Schubert's last instrumental composition, completed just weeks before he died.
After the special Mother's Day concert, there will be a reception for the performers and audience with wine and hors d'oeuvres.
