Three children of Houston Symphony musicians have become accomplished musicians in their own right.
Brittany Halen, daughter of Musica Tra Amici founder Eric Halen, has made a name for herself as a vocalist, dancer and actress, appearing regularly at Theatre Under the Stars, the Alley, Stages Repertory and Mainstreet Theaters in Houston, as well as regional theaters around the country.
Sean Holshauser, son of Houston Symphony pianist Scott Holshauser, has already had great success in both classical and Broadway singing, appearing with the HITS theatre, Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Houston and Houston Grand Opera.
Soprano Calista Ro-Jei Smith, daughter of Houston Symphony principal cellist Brinton Averil Smith (and Musica Tra Amici regular, pianist Evelyn Chen) just completed her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, where she appeared as Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, and spent two summers at the Aspen Music Festival, where she was chosen to perform for Renée Fleming.
These three accomplished young performers will join forces to sing solos, duo and trios with Houston Symphony pianist Scott Holshauser in an evening of audience favorites ranging from classical hits to operetta and Broadway.
