Hobby Center's Zilkha Hall will be strutting to the harmonic rhythms of the Conrad Johnson Orchestra under the leadership of Music Director James Williams with the soulful notes of Sean Jones' trumpet setting the tone. "The Jazz at the Hobby Center" concert promises to be a rich synthesis of down-home Texas blues and sophisticated jazz reminiscent of Conrad "Prof" Johnson's deep musical heritage that embodies the music legend's brand of excellence.
Music Doing Good, the presenting sponsor of the concert, will award four Houston area students each a $1500 music scholarship to help them pursue their music education. The scholarship recipients will be announced during the concert.
