Celebrate Halloween with one of the first feature films directed by the only woman to win an Academy Award for Best Director. Near Dark is Kathryn Bigelow’s ghastly humorous vampire western. Adrian Pasdar stars as a farm boy who is kidnapped by a band of traveling vampires after he is “turned” by a beautiful drifter. The late Bill Paxton is memorable - as always - as a howling leather-clad badass who prefers less hirsute victims when hunting small-town bars.
