Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens will once again transform into a winter wonderland for the fifth annual Christmas Village at Bayou Bend. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, brings holiday cheer with thousands of lights, carolers, animated projections, a hand-crafted model train, and festive activities, including cotton snowball tosses and a faux-snow slope, for all ages.

Visitors can stroll through the gardens sipping on holiday beverages, pose for pictures with Santa while he is in town (available until December 23), or even take a holiday-themed tour of Ima Hogg’s historic mansion with actors and theatrical effects. With the assistance of partner Landry’s, Christmas Village also offers dinner and light bite options at Santa’s Kitchen Food truck and sweet treats at the candy shop.

This year, Bayou Bend will be partnering with Montrose’s popular retro thrift store Pavement Clothing for Ugly Sweaters at the Bend on Monday, December 16. For one night only, Houstonians are encouraged to sport their ugliest Christmas sweater at Christmas Village. Those in sweaters will receive two special coupons: 20 percent off Bayou Bend’s Holiday Shop that evening and $5 off Norman Rockwell: American Freedom at the Museum’s main campus.
