Moody Gallery will present the exhibition Raising Nature, new work by Suzanne Bloom and Ed Hill, the collaborative team known as Manual.
In Raising Nature, Manual focuses once again on the slippery concept of the representation of Nature, something they had first done in their 1981 series, 13 Ways of Coping with Nature, and later in their extended Arcadia project (1998-2002).
The exhibition's title, Raising Nature, is meant to signify Manual's intention to re-imagine, enrich, and intensify conventional notions of picturing Nature by discarding photography's long standing pursuit of the well known "decisive moment" in favor of what Bloom and Hill refer to as the "aggregate moment."
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through April 2.
