New York-based choreographers Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Riener’s Open Machine present a project that imagines artificial intelligence through the lens of experimental dance. Technically precise dancers wearing sensory devices follow algorithmic rules that are simultaneously reflected on large LED screens in the Moody’s Lois Chiles Studio Theater. The performance is set to a score by electronic-music composer Mas Ysa and vocalist Charmaine Lee.
