Moody Center for the Arts presents a Dimensions Variable event inspired by their spring exhibition, "Breathe(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice." This hands-on workshop led by exhibiting artist Brandon Ballengée will feature a beekeeping demonstration and honey tasting with the Houston Beekeepers Association. Participants will also get to view music videos featuring Alaskan sound artist Matthew Burtner, from his latest album, Icefield.
Ballengée, whose works on view depict species impacted by oil spills, will speak about ecologies of the Gulf Coast and lead a drawing workshop using his collection of preserved aquatic specimens. Live bees will be present in an enclosed observation hive during the event.
