The long-awaited catalogue of the Mollie and Louis Kaplan Judaica Museum at Congregation Beth Yeshurun will be released on March 23 in conjunction with a lecture on the museum collection by Ori Soltes, professor of theology and professor of art history at Georgetown University. Soltes is a highly regarded and a very popular teacher with a tremendous breadth of knowledge, as can be inferred from his appointment in two different departments, his fluency in seven languages and his bibliography of more than 200 publications.
The catalogue has been prepared by Daniel Musher and Lisa Unsell, with photography by Tom DuBrock and Andy Bernstein. The preface is by Tom Freudenheim, former director of the National Endowment for the Arts and the Smithsonian Institute, and now a regular contributor on art to the Wall Street Journal.
A reception will follow, at which time the new catalogue will be on sale for $20. After this event, the catalogue will be available in the Beth Yeshurun gift shop for $25.
