Mildred’s Umbrella Theatre Company concludes its 2015-2016 season with the world premiere of Dollface by Katharine Sherman. Blending classical myth and pop culture with Sherman’s unique style, the play exposes and explores the precarious space women occupy, both in history and today.
Loosely borrowing from the Roman version of the Medusa myth, Dollface tells the story of a young woman’s journey from innocent to outcast at the hands of an unknown suitor and in the eyes of society.
Commissioned by and written exclusively for Mildred’s Umbrella, Dollface is the second Katharine Sherman work produced by the company following its world premiere of Cassandra in 2014.
