To honor the 15th anniversary of midtownHOU Art in the Park and the 10 Year anniversary of Midtown receiving their designation as a State of Texas Cultural Arts District, the Midtown Cultural Arts District commissioned an inspiring public art project by local artist April Murphy of AEM Gallery. The iconic Midtown sign will be wrapped in a whimsical design that is not only colorful but inspires visitors to “Bloom Where You’re Planted.”

Murphy designed the artwork that will transform the Midtown letters to display messages of hope emphasizing mindfulness, inclusivity, diversity, wisdom and more. Each letter will be themed with a word and artwork to evoke sentimental feelings, affirmations, and inspiration.
