MFAH Mixed Media Designed by IKEA transforms the museum into a multi-sensory experience. Cullinan Hall in the Caroline Wiess Law Building will be abuzz with calaveras, cocktails and high-energy DJs in celebration of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), a Mexican holiday observed on Nov. 1-2 to honor and celebrate departed loved ones.
Electro outfit MWG, a.k.a. Ernest Gonzales, will provide the soundtrack for the festive night, along with DJ Eric Castillo/Ceeplus Bad Knives, Ms. Body Music and soulful dance DJ Brotha Jibril. Off the dance floor, guests can enjoy Calaveras Mexicanas: The Art and Influence of José Guadalupe Posada, an exhibition that commemorates the famed Mexican printmaker.
