MFAH Master Tours: "Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River"

eventdetail
Museum of Fine Arts, Houston

Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River examines Claude Monet's abiding fascination with the Seine by tracing his life along the iconic French waterway, both chronologically and geographically. This beautiful exhibition brings together more than 50 paintings on loan from locations around the world. Beginning with scenes of leisure activities, modern life and cityscapes along the Seine, the presentation culminates in the ethereal works from the Impressionist painter's famous Mornings on the Seine series.

On two Mondays, Jan. 5 and Jan. 12, when the Museum is closed to the public, take part in Master Tours, an exclusive series of in-depth events led by museum art historians who share their expansive knowledge of the works on view. After the tour, discuss your experience over a glass of champagne. Presented by Helga Aurisch, curator, European art.
