Thomas P. Campbell, director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, sits down for an evening with Gary Tinterow, director of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, to discuss a number of critical issues facing museums today, and to talk about the exhibition Spectacular Rubens.

"Conversations with the Director" is a series of talks with Tinterow, who engages an eclectic roster of guests in one-on-one conversations about the arts.

Since becoming the ninth director and CEO of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 2009, Campbell has pursued an agenda that focuses on scholarship and accessibility. Prior to his appointment, Campbell was a curator in the Metropolitan's department of European sculpture and decorative arts, where he organized two major exhibitions on Renaissance and Baroque tapestry.
