Sunday Social is a derivative of the Mobile Block Party thrown in the past couple of years near the Mobile on the corner of Francis at Dowling near Project Row Houses. Those block parties were in response to a wave of thefts and a desire for safe socializing after dark. Engaging that corner was an attempt to take back part of the neighborhood lost to illicit activity.

Sunday Social is a public art event created in response to a recently published list of America's 25 Worst Neighborhoods, which features two corners in Houston's Third Ward. MF Problem will host an afternoon social on the corner of Sauer and McGowen streets to counter the temporary, yet damaging description of this area by offering an alternative way to reactivate this and other "dangerous" corners.

This event draws on rural/Southern/African American traditional picnics, socials and jubilees that include dancing, live music, food and socializing. Guests are encouraged to dress in semi-formal clothing or Sunday Best.
