Messina Hof Winery & Resort Fall Wine Appreciation Classes

There are a wide variety of grapes produced throughout the world which take on many different flavors, textures and forms. Grape varietals are different breeds of grapes that can accentuate wines. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the wine varietals and wine pairings; as well as taste award-winning Messina Hof wines.

Messina Hof's monthly Wine Appreciation Classes are taught so everyone from beginner to connoisseur can follow along and learn about the fabulous world of fine wine. Classes begin at 3 p.m., last 90 minutes and include light cheeses and wines.

Oct. 28, 3 p.m. - "Wines with Junk Food"
The class features the Association of Former Students Aggie Network Midnight Yell, Association of Former Students Aggie Network Merlot and Gewurztraminer.

Nov. 25, 3 p.m. - "Texas Bordeaux"
The class features Association of Former Students Aggie Network Legacy, Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot Rea Gae Vineyard.

Dec. 30, 3 p.m. - "Party Wines: A Little Mixing, Sparkling & Sweets"
The class features Solera "Sherry Coke", Almond Sparkling Wine, Tawny Port and Sangria.
