George Frideric Handel's Messiah originally debuted in 1742 and has remained a favorite oratorio ever since. Tracing the life of Christ, Messiah culminates in the Christmas classic "Hallelujah" chorus. Mercury Baroque performs highlights from this masterpiece using instruments typical of the eighteenth century.
