Three art-world figures will discuss the work of an artist who once likened her pencil to "a magic box" capable of creating worlds. Menil curator Michelle White is joined by Maura Reilly, executive director of the Linda Pace Foundation, and Veronica Roberts, curator of modern and contemporary art at the Blanton Museum of Art (University of Texas at Austin), in a conversation inspired by the new exhibition Lee Bontecou: Drawn Worlds.
Celebrated for her three-dimensional work, drawing has always been an important component of Bontecou's artistic practice. Proving the power of the medium, Lee Bontecou: Drawn Worlds is the first exhibition dedicated to the artist's works on paper.
