Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts (MECA) will present the work of Houston based artist Paris Jomadiao. Jomadiao’s recent work is an exploration of form and the different ways it can be interpreted, abstracted, and re-worked. In Sediment, Jomadiao extracts visual cues found in naturally occurring textures, patterns, and configurations to create cut-paper illustrations and installations that build upon the idea of layering as an expression of flux.
Houston based, mixed media and installation artist Paris Jomadiao received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Houston. Her work has been showcased in venues throughout the city including Fresh Arts, Houston Arts Alliance, and Aurora Picture Show. Jomadiao has been a featured artist in residence at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft and Aerosol Warfare.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through July 10.
