The Dallas Black Dance Theatre is an internationally recognized dance company known for performing a mixed repertory of modern, jazz, ethnic and spiritual works by nationally and internationally known choreographers. Choreographed by dance artist Dianne McIntyre for the highly accomplished dancers of the company, The Nina Simone Project depicts the life and history of venerable pianist/singer/performer Nina Simone.

The ballet, performed with visual projections and autobiographical narration, is set to the gospel, blues, jazz and folk songs from Simone's career and spans the many stages of her life — from early church life to involvement in the civil rights movement to her reign as the High Priestess of Soul.

An artist meet and greet follows the performance.
