M.D. Anderson’s 70th Anniversary

Celebrating 70 years of Making Cancer History, this extravagant gala honors Anne and Dr. John Mendelsohn, president of M.D. Anderson. CBS News' Bob Schieffer will emcee along with Good Morning America's weather anchor Sam Champion. Also on the program are Luci Johnson, UT system chancellor Francisco Cigarroa, M.D., UT System Board of Regents chairman Gene Powell, and former Secretary of State James A. Baker, III, and his wife, Susan Baker.

The evening's stellar entertainment line-up includes the Houston Symphony, mezzo-soprano Susan Graham, violin virtuoso Sarah Chang, Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers, soprano Barbara Padilla with The University of Texas Pan-American Mariachi Aztlan and Ballet Folklόrico Luz de Luna, the Houston Children’s Chorus and a multidenominational chorale with singer Mary Griffin.

A special VIP reception will be held on the Club Level at 5:30 p.m.
