Join Mayor Annise Parker for the lighting of the “Official Holiday Tree." An opening reception starts at 5 p.m. inside the Houston Public Library. At 6 p.m. Eddie Levert of the O’Jays will give a festive rocking start to the occasion with a performance on City Hall's upper plaza. Fireworks blast above the downtown skyline at 7 p.m.
