Israeli-born cellist Maya Beiser has captivated audiences worldwide with her virtuosity, eclectic repertoire and relentless quest to redefine her instrument’s boundaries. For her Houston debut, she will perform alongside drummer Glenn Kotche of the groundbreaking American rock band Wilco, as well as Jherek Bischoff on bass.
Maya’s latest project, All Vows, explores the dichotomy between the physical, external world we inhabit and the inner landscape of our secret selves. It premiered at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in March 2014 and features the music from her newest album Uncovered by such rock-and-roll greats as Janis Joplin, Glenn Kotche, Howlin Wolf, David T. Little, Kurt Cobain and Led Zeppelin, plus works by Michael Gordon, Michael Harrison and original film by Bill Morrison.
