The Mariago Collective will present Connect Five, an exhibition curated by artist Joseph TranVan. Connect Five showcases Houston’s Urban Dictionary through works by Sebastien “Mr. D” Boileau, Catfish Perez, Skeez181, Wes Texas, and Joseph TranVan.

Within Connect Five, TranVan transforms the gallery into a space that illustrates the synergy of Houston’s concrete jungle through graffiti, photography, pop art and illustration. The artists explore our Urban Dictionary as a cultural reference to Houston’s vernacular…the here and now. Within the exhibition, the concept of the Urban Dictionary which was originally intended for slang, cultural words, and phrases not typically found in standard dictionaries, is visually reimagined as the terms migrate, mutate, and motivate through time and space.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display through October 24.
