eventdetail

Congregation Beth Israel presents vibrant new works from Houston-based artist Barbara Hines that explore the complicated, yet timeless life of Joseph. “Spotlight on Joseph” is comprised of more than 25 mixed media works on paper and several works on canvas.

Found in the book of Genesis, Joseph’s story is one full of highs and lows and while it may have taken place 4,000 years ago, it still holds powerful relevance. Today, the colorful paintings transport Joseph from the Five Books of Moses into the 21st century, depicting him in contemporary scenarios.

Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on  display until February 2020.
