The Lone Star Symphonic Band is bringing classic rock to the Katy area for its first concert of the band’s 24th season. During the concert, the band will also play some recognizable classical pieces, to round out its concert, titled “A Touch of Class-ical."
Classical selections slated to be performed include: "Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral," "La Traviata," "The Marriage of Figaro," "Slavonic Dances," and will feature vocal tenor Mr. David Van Wyke in Nessun Dorma.
Classic rock selections to be performed include a medley of the following songs by the Eagles: "Heartache Tonight," "Desperado," and "Hotel California." A medley of the following Beatles songs are also to be played: "All My Lovin’," "Hard Day’s Night," "Ticket to Ride," "Yesterday," "Norwegian Wood," "Got to Get You Into My Life," "Here There and Everywhere," "The Fool on the Hill," "Penny Lane," "Lady Madonna," "Something," and "Maxwell’s Silver Hammer."
The Band will round out the concert with a medley of the following Elvis favorites: "Blue Suede Shoes," "Can’t Help Falling in Love," "Don’t Be Cruel," "Heartbreak Hotel," and "Love Me Tender."
