Inspired by the everyday life and culture of Mexico, Houston-based artist Janice Freeman creates large-scale collage paintings that not only incorporate dream imagery, but also account for memory, observation and the projection of wishes and desires. A retrospective of her work will be on display at Lone Star College-Kingwood's Fine Arts Gallery in the college's Performing Arts Center from Oct. 15 to Nov. 13.
An open house with refreshments will be held on Oct. 16 in the gallery, followed by an artist talk.
