Award-winning playwright Jason Nodler has created a follow-up to his Speeding Motorcycle, a hit musical based on the music and writings of Daniel Johnston that premiered at Infernal Bridegroom Productions in Houston.
His new work, Life is Happy and Sad, is based on Johnston's early years making music in Austin in a University of Texas practice room.
Johnston has been the focus of much recent attention, including a motion picture set to be released about his life. The show is expected to sell out, as did Speeding Motorcycle.
