To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Freedom Riders in 1961, a group of Houston organizations have joined to remember and preserve the history of activism in Houston. This yearlong community initiative, "Freedom Now: Houston Retraces the Civil Rights Movement," presents a series of talks, events and exhibitions.

This gallery talk is led by the curator of The African American Library at the Gregory School, Danielle Burns.
