The Levy Park Conservancy is holding a Grand “re-opening” for Levy Park with an all-day event that promises something for everyone and every age. It will be an opportunity to showcase this urban park which should prove to be a destination for families from throughout the metropolitan area, as well as out-of- town visitors. Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner will be in attendance for the ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off the celebrations. The day will culminate in a live music performance by Grupo Fantasma on the Pavilion.
At the celebration, expect to see programming that covers a wide range of areas: health and fitness, food and horticulture, performing arts, music, poetry and spoken word, literacy, natural science, animal rescue. You can hear a piano concert and other music and experience face painting, interactive displays, workshops with local organizations, gardening demos, food trucks, dance, yoga, and much more.
