Lecture: "What Does Art Look Like When It Matters?" by David Habercom
Jung Center Houston
When is art at its best? When, like religion, it opens onto mystery. Though people may not admit it, too often art lovers find themselves bored as they walk through a contemporary gallery.
The premise of this lecture is that art has become an oppressively intellectual enterprise that demands that people understand an elite conceptual language and think, rather than experience. In this presentation, photographer David Habercom explores how the best art aims to transform the understanding of life.
