Lecture with Brent Green on Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then

eventdetail
DiverseWorks

Join artist and filmmaker Brent Green as he discusses his latest work, Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then, a whimsical installation of video, sculpture and sound. For this film, Green was inspired by the true story of an idiosyncratic home in Louisville owned by hardware store clerk Leonard Wood. When Wood's wife Mary was diagnosed with cancer, he began building the house, affixing one room at a time, in the futile hope that his labor would save his beloved wife. Even after Mary's death, Wood continued to realize the house's design over the following 20 years in his wish to create something as tangible and powerful as his love for his wife.

The lecture is free and open to the public. The exhibition, Brent Green: Gravity Was Everywhere Back Then, is on view at DiverseWorks through Dec. 18.
