"Explorations in Luminosity" is a group exhibition of encaustic artworks by artists Pamela Beverly-Quigley, Danny Setjo, and Douglas Smith, whose art is being exhibited for the first time in Houston. The encaustic process, painting using pigment infused hot wax, is one of the oldest known forms of painting. This wax process technique was notably used in the Fayum mummy portraits from Egypt around 100–300 AD.
Following the opening reception, the exhibit will be on display until June 30.
